See, I was the exact opposite. My father was police officer, and he raised me to understand what a gun was cabable of. When I was five he taught me how to shoot, and firearms safety. Ever since I was old enough to understand, I was taught to never touch my dad's guns, unless he was standing right next to me, watching. I learned at an early age that a gun is a dangerous weapon, and not to be handled like a toy. When I get married and have a family, my children, God willing, will be taught the same way I was taught, taught to respect and even fear a the power of a firearm, and taught how to control that power, and when it is acceptable to handle my guns. Someday I hope my sons (or daughters, thought those are kinda rare in my family) are mature and old enough to own firearms of their own, and be responsible for their care and maitenance.
